BODY SHAMING - THE WORLD IS GUILTY.


Body shaming is a practice of humiliating someone by making critical comments about their body shapes and sizes. It is an unconscious act we all do without knowing. The world is guilty of this, and I believe if you are one of those that derive pleasure in body shaming, then you need to have a rethink and stop.

“Why are you adding much weight?
“After 6 months of childbirth, your tummy is still too big"
“Please lose some weight, no man will find you attractive"
“Let me give you tips on how to lose weight"

These are all statements attributed to body - shaming and we are all guilty, comparing your appearance to another person.

SHOULD I BE UPSET WHEN SOMEONE BODY-SHAMES ME? No. I just understand people do not mind their business and it is just their opinion which is an actual sense should not bother me. Sometimes body shaming could come from a genuinely good place but other times it is just mere criticism.

HOW TO OVERCOME BODY-SHAMING
  • Avoid negative vibes or persons.
  • Learn to love and accept yourself just the way you are; remember, what makes you different, makes you beautiful.
  • Work towards achieving your goal.
  • Speak up against negative comments about you.
If you must Body-Shame,
  • Speak to the person with love and respect.
  • Make it a private discussion.
  • Provide solution 
  • Do not compare, we were created differently.
